The ancient Mesmericans noticed, thanks to their observation of the sky, that everything that happens on Earth is related to repetitive cycles that determine the course of what is happening here. For them, these cycles were elementary in their worldview; men had to make sure that these cycles were carried out for the preservation of life. From the most everyday, such as the birth and hiding of the sun, to the arrival of the seasons, or the most complex astronomical cycles.

Many of the rituals of other millenarian ethnic groups were also closely related to these cycles of the rebirth of life. One of them, highly known in the world for its visibility and eccentricity is that of the bird-men of the Voladores de Papantla, a dance-invocation, that could be said, had an extensive use in Mesoamerica, that is, it is not necessarily Originally from Papantla (rather well it is popularly known): it was practiced by the Nahuas, Mexicas, Totonacs, and even in places in the western part of the country such as Jalisco or Nayarit.
